The Class of 2010 will be sponsoring a barbecue at Homecoming to help raise funds for its parting gift to SUNY Fredonia in 2010.

BW Smokin' Barrels of Blasdell, NY, will be catering delicious pulled pork barbecue dinners at the Williams Center as a fundraiser for the Class of 2010 Senior Challenge during Homecoming. The barbecue is "open" from 5 to 8 p.m. (right after the Pep Rally!) on Friday, Oct. 9.

Included in the "to-go" dinner is a pulled pork sandwich on a kaiser roll, french fries and a can of pop. Drive-thru or a sit down atmosphere will be provided with live music by two bands: "Co-Existence" and "Jud Q in the Black Hole."

The cost is $7 per meal - FREDCards will be honored for on-site purchases. Tickets can be purchased in advance online now at  the Ticket Office

Class of 2009 gift will embellish Japanese Garden
Senior Class Gift Presentation

Each year the Senior Class undertakes the project of leaving a Class Gift to SUNY Fredonia. This year, the Class of 2009 raised funds for embellishments to the Japanese Garden next to Reed Library.

The work of organizing the class, choosing the gift and raising the funds is called, "The Senior Challenge," a tradition was started by the Class of 1986. The Senior Challenge represents more than just socializing and fundraising. Ultimately, it creates awareness that SUNY Fredonia's future depends on gifts and service from its alumni.

In photo, Senior Class President Patrick Horn presents the plaque for the Japanese Garden to President Dennis L. Hefner at Commencement.
