One Brick at a Time

 

We invite you to mark your place in Fredonia’s history by purchasing a Scholarship Walkway Brick. Your engraved brick can be a personal legacy or be used to honor a friend, parent, student, or even a favorite faculty member. Show your pride in your alma mater by inscribing your name and class year on a brick. Commemorate a special occasion such as a graduation or retirement, or memorialize a  member of the Fredonia community.The Brick Walkway will be installed in theWilliams Center Patio area for students, faculty and alumni to enjoy. The purchase of the walkway brick will support scholarships to assist Fredonia in continuing to attract the best and brightest students.

Alumni Events

July 8-9 -- Fredonia Band Alumni Reunion Reconnect with your colleagues and join other Fredonia music alums as we perform great repertoire doing what we love!   It will be an exciting weekend celebrating your legacy with a terrific performance of music by Holst, Grainger, Sousa, and other works from the standard repertoire.  Mary Anne Harp will be our guest conductor representing her father, Herbert Harp, who is the foundation of the Fredonia Band program.

Saturday, July 8 

12:30pm – Registration, coffee, and Tours of Mason Renovations (Mason Hall lobby)

(See the new rehearsal rooms as you walk by the rooms to King via the new connector!!! Percussionists in particular will enjoy their journey to King!!)

2:00pm - 4:00pm - Rehearsal* - (King Concert Hall)

4:30pm -6:30pm - BBQ Cookout (on campus – included with your reunion registration) 
7:00pm - 9:00pm - Rehearsal* - (King Concert Hall)
9:00pm - Social Time - more details TBA

Sunday, July 9
11:00am - 1:00pm - Rehearsal* - (King Concert Hall)
1:00pm - 2:30pm - Lunch - on your own

2:45pm Please be on stage
3:00pm- Final Concert – (King Concert Hall) – Free and open to the public!

 

*Note: Attendance at All Rehearsals is REQUIRED in order to perform in the concert on Sunday.

July 8 -- Celebration of the Lives of Thomas Stocky and Thomas Tunney Peace Pole Dedication  10 AM - 2PM  College Lodge, 8067 Rt. 308, Brocton, NY. 

 

Tom "Tommy" Tunney (1956-1976) grew up in Hudson, NY, the youngest of four siblings. He was very happy there, and enjoyed a close relationship with his parents. He grew up listening to the Weavers, and as a teenager began his studies on the banjo.  He was an education major at Fredonia. Tom was committed to peace and social justice, and volunteered his time towards these causes.

Tom Stocky (1955-1980) was raised in N. Tonawanda NY, the middle child of 5.  He was a double chemistry and German major at Fredonia, graduating summa cum laude. A guitar player and singer, in the spring of 1978 he was selected as the Chautauqua County Minstrel. He played music for community events, in schools, day care centers, senior centers. He wrote two songbooks "Songs in the Children's Tradition" and "Protect the Innocent."

11:30 AM- Peace Pole Dedication

12:30 PM- Luncheon -$15per person.

7:30 PM- Mad About Toms Tribute Concert at the Fredonia Opera House, 9 Church Street, Fredonia NY. Admission by donation.  he concert features performances by musician friends of Tom Stocky and Tom Tunney from their Fredonia College days.
